was inhospitable to the Anopheles Mosquito. Water for the use
of the Cattle Depôt is brought by a pipe from high up nullah "A".
The result is as was anticipated. Nullah "A" is now quite free
from larvae. But what was proposed has been too well done:- the
branch "C" carries clear water, and Anopheles larvae formerly
absent are now present in considerable numbers. As it enters the
main stream not far from the Caretaker's house, this should be
remedied. All that is necessary is to instruct the Police that
too many laundrymen are doing their work in the main stream,
and that some of them must be compelled to return to its
trioutary. The branch "R" is too small to be so used; and,
though I found larvae present, I think the only thing to be
done in "g" is to keep as free as possible the channel for the
ready flow of water in its lower parts. This aight be consider-
ably improved on at small cost of labour.

The streams "D" and "L" drain a valley to
the East of the Police Station hill. "D" might be greatly in-

watercourse in which I found Anopheles larvae, in the neighbour-
hood of ble matshed village. "" is in possession of the washer-
